RegistryManager: The Board was given a demonstration of the
registration program we are currently using and then a demonstration
of the newly created RegistryManager. The new program will be more
efficient, easier to move within the program and will have
additional internal reminders, checks and balances as well as an
audit trail. We are currently testing it by entering registrations
into both programs, but by years end, will be fully operational on
the new program.
llamaOOgle Photo Ads – On-Line Catalog: We have expanded the
llamaOOgle Photo Ads site to include sales catalog. The Twin Lakes
Liquidation has 50 selected animals on the site and the entire
Hinterland Production Sale will be on the site within the week. An
e-mail was created and approved by the board to send out to our over
2800 members about the Twin Lakes & Hinterland on-line catalogs. The
board discussed additional sales to approach to offer our services.
Financials: Monies from matured long term CD’s has been
reinvested into a combination of two-month and six-month CDs, both
yielding approximately 3% interest. Additional CDs will mature over
the next few months and we will investigate the best re-investment
options for those monies at that point in time. The board also made
the decision to have an independent review of our financial records
every three to five years. The last review was done in 2004. Jan
will ask for recommendations from our accountant.
AMLA (American Miniature Llama Association): Jan reviewed the
processing procedures, certificate layout and the communication
specifics with the AMLA. The board also finalized a letter to the
AMLA regarding an ongoing matter.
ALSA: The board received a letter from ALSA regarding our
response to their request for services for the operations of the
ALSA office. We sent a letter to them on March 28, 2008, explaining
our interest and requesting additional information so that we could
formalize a cost analysis for the services. ALSA rejected us from
the selection pool without explanation and without a cost analysis
for the services.
NACA (North American Ccara Association): Jan reviewed the
process for issuance of certificates for animals that the NACA have
screened to meet their criteria. We have receive a data base from
them and the Ccara designation is given to the llamas that pass NACA
screening. At owner request, a certificate is re-issued with Ccara
designation. The board reviewed and approved a prototype certificate
and our recommendation will be forwarded to the NACA.
Review of ILR Certificate Layout: The board reviewed the
current certificate and the modifications necessary to allow for
designation on the certificate for animals enrolled in the ILR-IF
(Incentive Fund) and/or the ILR-UAP (Universal Awards Program). The
logos for each award system will be printed on the certificates at
any time certificates are reissued. Enhanced certificates will
continue to have the photo to the left of the name.
Protected Names: Protected names are not Herd Identifiers.
The
program to allow for Protected Names ended in 1996. The board has
decided to contact all owners with protected names and ask them if
they would like to continue to keep the name protected or if they
would release the names for use. The members will be given thirty
days to respond if they wish to keep the name protected. If no
response is received, we will release the protected names.
Mission Statement: The board reviewed the ILR Mission
Statement. We felt it was still appropriate and no changes were
made. It will be posted to the ILR web site.
