ILR BOARD MINUTES
September 18, 2008

The meeting was called to order at 7:57pm EDT – Karen Baum, Mark Smith, Kristy Brown, Mary Jo Miller and Jan Wassink, Registrar, were present; Kathi McKinney was unable to travel to Iowa. The meeting was held in a pavilion room at the Kirkwood Community College Equine Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

1. Approval of Minutes: The July minutes were approved. Motion by Kathi and seconded by Mary Jo.
    
2. Next Board Meeting: tentatively a teleconference call on October 16, 2008 at 8pm EDT.
    
3. Annual Meeting Preparation: Annual Meeting Preparation:  The annual meeting for the ILR will be held at 5pm on Friday September 19, 2008 at the Llama Futurity Association (LFA) event in Cedar Rapids, IA.  The board reviewed agenda items for the meeting and reviewed Jan’s Power Point presentation.  The board agreed with Jan’s suggestions to emphasize the ILR-IF (Incentive Fund), ILR-UAP (Universal Awards Program), ShowManager and Lamaribbean II. 
    
4. Registrar: The board reviewed financial reports and office operations.
    
5. Web site Update: The new web site design firm is on target with their upgrades. The contract firm will be doing a redesign to improve ease of use and logical flow. Any additional programming or upgrades will be done by ILR programmers.
    
6. Lamaribbean II 2009:  The conference schedule will be sent out to members within the month.  The board discussed sponsorships and donations for the raffle.
    
7. ILR-IF and ILR-UAP: The board approved additional offers for the ILR-IF. Sires nominated by October 15, 2008 will have their 2009 nomination included. Also, anyone enrolling 10 offspring from any stud that is nominated will get an 11^th enrollment free. The first 10 do not have to be from the same sire. The ILR-UAP Activity log will be available on-line within the next three weeks.
    
8. Youth Association Development: Kristy has begun to make contact with youth to develop a youth association.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:45pm EDT. Motion by Mary Jo, seconded by Kristy.
