ILR BOARD MINUTES
December 30, 2008
 

Called to order at 7:10 EST – Board Member Karen Baum, Kathi McKinney, Mark Smith, Kristy Brown, Mary Jo Miller and Registrar, Jan Wassink were present.

Mark summarized the comments made by members on the survey and found five common comments and requests by members; the members want the ILR Show Division to be economical, have a simplified format as compared to other show options, have no politics, provide timely and accurate records, and to have member input acknowledged and considered.

The board reviewed the number of paid members to the date and discussed donations towards the new ILR Show Division.

Projected time frame to establish Show Division:

            Functional by 01/31/09

            Finalized by 07/01/09

Dues for the ILR Show Division will be:

            For Show Division ONLY members:

                        $50 for two adult members

                        $10 for each additional family member per farm

                        $10 for each youth division membership

            For ILR Members that wish to join the Show Division also:

                        $35 for two adult members

                        $10 for each additional family member per farm

                        $10 for each youth division membership

Life Membership: 

Anyone making a donation of $1000 or more towards the development of the ILR Show Division will be given a life membership. This will be effective through March 31, 2009.

ILR Sanctioning of Shows:

            Shows wishing to be sanctioned by the ILR Show Division will follow the following fee schedule:

                        $50 -  show sanctioning fee and free set up on the ILR ShowManager

1.       Shows using ShowManager - $1.00/head per show user fee.

2.      Shows NOT using ShowManager - $2.00/head per show user fee to cover the additional cost of ILR office staff having to enter show results.

Grandfathering Points & Awards from other show associations:

After much discussion on the matter, the board decided to not grandfather points & awards from other show associations until a legal opinion on the ability to transfer them is known, and this will also put all ILR Show Division members on a level playing field.  We will however develop a Lifetime History of Achievement page as a part of each animal’s record where current owner of record can go in and enter show results and important achievements of the animal so they can be viewed along with the animal’s pedigree information.

An email will be sent to members updating them on the recent decisions of the ILR Show Division development and requesting volunteers for each committee:  Halter, Performance, Rules, Judges and Finance.
