ILR BOARD MINUTES
January 8, 2009
Called to order at 7:04pm EST – Board
Members Karen Baum, Kathi McKinney, Mark Smith, Kristy Brown,
Mary Jo Miller and Registrar Jan Wassink were present.
Committee Assignments and Structure:
1.
The board reviewed the input from volunteer and member
comments and decided to add two major committees: Fiber and
Youth.
2.
Term limits: the board decided that the term
lengths for committee members would be determined
alphabetically, with the first alphabetical member serving for 1
year, the second 2 years, etc. One- and two-year term members
could run for re-election the year their term expires. All
others must take a year off before rerunning for the same
committee, but could run for a different committee that year.

board reviewed a tentative Governance plan for the ILR Show
Division and will finalize this at the next board meeting.
Additional ILR Board discussions:
1.
The board approved $600 to be used for the 2009 FFA
Convention in October. This is the same amount as in past years.
2.
The board was notified that a member had suffered the
loss of their home in a fire. All their ILR registration papers
were lost in the fire. The registry offers replacement of the
papers lost due to extreme and unforeseen circumstances for $10
each to a maximum of $100 for replacement of animals currently
owned by the member. An anonymous donor has already paid the
$100 replacement fee for the member with the loss. The board
will contact the person and suggest they go online and review
their herd list and request replacement of active animals.
Next meeting: Jan 15, 2009 at 8pm EST

Kristy J. Brown, Secretary
