The next teleconference meeting will be held January 29, 2003, 12 Noon, EST.

  1. Registrar’s Report
Jan presented a report on bad debts inherited from the transfer of information from Rochester. Since most of this debt is now several years old and the members who incurred it no longer have llamas there needs to be a way to remove this debt from our books.
  2. Budget
There was discussion of the budget for 2003. The 2003 ILR Budget will be reviewed at the next meeting.
  3. Petition Committee
A petition was presented to the Board of Directors requesting the ILR to waive the rule that animals with parents of "D" status be prohibited from achieving registered status. Motion. Art Kennel. Deny the petition based on Policy rule #3,a,6 of the ILR Screening Policy which states that the offspring of an animal which has failed screening cannot be screened or registered. Second. Karen Baum. 5 Ayes.
  4. Motion
Sally Rucker. Jan will begin discussion with ALSA regarding the addition of ALSA ROM and Halter Champion designations on the certificate. The final form of the ALSA designations on the certificates will be approved by the ILR BOD. Second. Karen Baum. 5 Ayes.
  5. DNA Qualified Cria Signatures
Jan asked if it would be prudent to waive signatures on sire and dam if both had DNA on file and the cria to be registered qualified as the offspring of the sire and dam. There was discussion about how to insure the validity of the actual breeding information if the cria was a result of an outside breeding or if a male had been leased as a breeding male. The BOD will give more attention to this issue before a decision is made.
  6. Cross-breed Registry Closure
There was discussion regarding the closure of the cross-breed registry. Since this is such an important issue we decided to table this discussion until next week’s meeting. Members of the BOD who have had input from ILR members should put that input into written form and send it to the BOD.

Motion: Sally Rucker. Adjourn the meeting. Second. Karen Baum. 5 Ayes.
Meeting adjourned at 3:09 PM EST.

Respectfully submitted,
Sally Taylor, Secretry
