have anything to add to the ILReport.
- NPLC Report
Art Kennel. Art gave a report on his attendance at the National Pedigree
Livestock Council.
- Agricultural Census
From time to time the office receives requests for agricultural census
information regarding llama populations. We have been guaranteed that this
information will not be used for any purpose other than statistical data.
Based on that assurance the BOD gave approval to the office to provide this
information based on the Registrar’s discretion.
- Software and Website Update
Alan Schmautz, ILR’s computer specialist joined the meeting to give the
BOD an overview of services that have been implemented since last year. The
ILR Membership Directory will soon be available on request from the ILR
office. The price of the directory will be $35.00. Because the directory will
be printed upon request it will be updated daily and will be the most current
information available. Alan explained the limited use of the searches and
downloads available on the ILR web site. It is important to educate members
about the services available to them on the ILR web site. There will be
another article in the ILReport regarding the ILR website and encouraging
members to visit the site for information regarding the Registry.
- Public Education Committee
Art Kennel, Chairman, suggests that we update the educational brochures
developed by ILA. Art will act as overseer and will assign specific brochures
to individual BOD members for review to determine if editing is necessary.
- Camelid Library
Art suggests web links to several organizations including, but not limited
to, Morris Animal Foundation, American Association of Small Ruminant
Practitioners, International Camelid Institute, New England Journal of Camelid
Surgery, Purdue University, Alpaca Research Foundation, The Delta Society and
Oregon State University. These links would be a source for articles on camelid
research and care. There was enthusiastic support for this valuable project.
- Government Relations Committee
There was discussion about the working of the Government Relations
Committee. Karen will contact the committee members to facilitate a meeting as
soon as possible.
Meeting adjourned at 5:45 PM MDT.
Respectfully submitted
