ILR Board of Directors Conference
October 19, 2004

The ILR Board of Directors teleconference meeting was called to order by President, Karen Baum, at 12:06 PM , EDT. Present: Karen Baum, Art Kennel, Sally Rucker, Sally Taylor, and Jan Wassink, Registrar. Kathi McKinney was out of the country and was unable to join the call.

Motion: Art Kennel. Approve minutes of September 23, 2004 teleconference meeting. Karen Baum, Second. 4 Ayes.

The next teleconference call will be 12:00 Noon , EST, November 16, 2004 .

Financial Reports Discussion
The board discussed the financial reports and decided to postpone more in depth discussion until next meeting. The rental units in the ILR building are occupied and leases are being signed for the coming year.

Outstanding ARI Bill
Karen explained the communications with the ARI representatives regarding the outstanding bill ARI owes ILR. The BOD will send a letter to ARI with our final proposal.

I Want A Llama!
All advertisers in I Want A Llama will be sent a few copies of the publication. Jan and Alan will look into ways to promote I Want A Llama on the ILR website.

New ILR LamaManager Program Update
The software update development is going well and Jan is very pleased with the progress. The programmer is in the office and can readily make improvements and adjustments to the system. There was discussion of the website and ways it can be improved to make it more user-friendly. There is also work being done on an association module that would allow associations use the ILR website to manage their membership and program information.

Government Relations
Sally Rucker explained that she feels the Government Relations focus group is working well independent of ILR and they know if they need or want help from ILR all they need to do is ask. Karen mentioned she would try to drive to the USAHA meeting which will be held in Greensboro , North Carolina later this month.

ILR Face-to-Face Meeting for 2005
ILR will be holding its annual face-to-face meeting at the LANA Expo in mid June in California .

Listing Fee Discussion
There was discussion of the $40.00 listing fee. There will be further discussion at a later meeting.

On-line Camera Ready Artwork
Jan will look into making camera-ready artwork available online through the website so owners can make their own decals if they want to do so.

Sally Rucker complimented Karen on her efforts to resolve the problems with the ARI billing and thanked her on behalf of llama and alpaca owners in trying to bring this on-going problem to an end. She also complimented Jan on his construction of the timeline document for the ARI transactions and billings which answered all of the ARI concerns.
