ILR BOARD MINUTES

October 22, 2001
8:00pm EDT

Meeting called to order at 8:00 PM EDT. Present: Karen Baum, Art Kennel, Jack Moore, Sally Rucker, Sally Taylor and Jan Wassink, Registrar.

A special meeting of the ILR Board of Directors was called to discuss the Government Relations situation for the lama community.

Art Kennel reported that he has investigated the process for transition for the llama community’s representation. If ILR submits application for membership, the USAHA Executive Committee will discuss the application at its annual meeting in Hershey, PA, November 1-8, 2001.

After much discussion it was decided that Art Kennel would meet with members of the lama community at the USAHA meeting to brainstorm about how the government relations functions could be addressed.

Jack suggests a referendum be submitted to the membership with the next ILReport to give the Board of Directors direction for the government relations function. The report from Art after USAHA and the referendum will provide ILR with the direction it needs to make an informed decision on this issue.

Meeting adjourned 9:10 PM EDT.

Respectfully submitted,
Sally Taylor
Secretary
