Event Type: ILR Sanctioned Shows Event Name: Jingle Bell Extravaganza Mount Vernon, WA
Llama owners get creative to keep shows alive despite rising costs............
An enthusiastic group of Northwestern Region llama owners have set the date for an exciting new double point ALSA llama show for August 22 & 23 in Mount Vernon, WA. As most of you know, shows here in the Northwest have been slowly dwindling. Between fuel expenses, show expenses and the overall economy, people are just not showing like they were. This area is quite nice during this time and this facility stays comfortable in August.
The show will be themed Christmas in August with many fun and creative ideas (innovative prizes too) to help get the FUN back into showing. Please take advantage of this theme and buy your decorations, outfits etc. now during the holiday season! We are also working on creative ways to get costs down and to make it more reasonable for YOU to attend. Everyone has decided to offer a walking fleece show, classic classes and more. There will be very inexpensive camping options available, including bringing your own panels for your show animals so you can work out of your trailers.
There will be a lot more specific information coming out soon. We just want to be sure you mark your calendars NOW! We hope to get as many entries as possible, fill the classes, and have a great turnout! Sponsorship and volunteers are GREATLY appreciated............
