Dear Llama Owners,
RE: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Just a short note to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and to thank all of you for your support of the ILR this past year. As has always been the case, the vast majority of llama owners are a true joy to work with – even when things go wrong.
We have been working our way through the results of the survey and want to thank those of you who responded. As expected, your responses varied widely, which only emphasizes the challenges we face here in trying to provide services to a members who often have vastly different interests and expectations. We are in the process of developing goals for 2007 and encourage you to let us know if you have suggestions that will help us meet the challenges of the future. If you will be on the cruise, we look forward to talking with you and getting your input there.
Although, as I mentioned earlier, we are still in the planning stages for 2007 goals, we remain committed to working to make the registration process as simple and straightforward as we can. Look for the ability to register your cria online – even if you were not the owner of the dam and/or sire at the time of conception!
In addition, we plan to put together a “bundle” of advertising opportunities within the ILR publications and web site that will enable you to advertise in a variety of ways at a substantial discount compared to paying for each individually.
After the conference, we will finalize our goals and pass them on to you. If you miss those communications, just watch the web site – you will see the changes there.
Here’s wishing you have a great time with friends and family over the Holidays and a wonderful 2007.

REMINDER - if you have already booked your cruise and plan to arrive the night prior to departure, which is a good idea, you need to call Diane at Cruises Inc. - 1-888-583-2020 to get your name on the hotel list, as well as set up a hotel-to-ship transfer for the following morning.
NOTE: If you have friends or family who would like to go on the cruise but not be involved in the llama conference activities, they are welcome to join us. They need to register for the cruise but NOT the conference.

SAN ANTONIO RODEO ROPES BACK TO BACK RODEO OF THE YEAR AWARDS
Las Vegas –Each year, the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association honors the best of the best in contract personnel, stock contractors and rodeo committees during the annual Contract Personnel Awards Banquet at the Southpoint Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas .
The Large Rodeos (those with more that $10,000 added per event) are broken into Outdoor and Indoor categories. Five finalists were selected from the 46 rodeos in the indoor category, and the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo took home the prestigious honor for the second time in a row this year. Because nominees and winners are voted on by their peers in the industry, it is considered a great honor to be selected.
Executive Director Keith Martin says “We are very excited to be honored for the second year in a row. It’s especially rewarding as our peers in the industry voted to select us. I’m humbled by our volunteers, who made this possible.”
During the Banquet, Keith Martin was also personally recognized with a rough stock remuda award, in recognition of the outstanding work he has done in advancing the quality of rodeo by inviting only the highest quality stock to the San Antonio Rodeo.
San Antonio also recently announced plans to increase its purse size to over $1 million in 2007, making it one of the top two paying regular season rodeos in the country.
The 2007 San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo will take place February 1-18, 2007 . Tickets are on sale now.
