Knowledge. Information. Education.

The International Llama Foundation (ILF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, with a mission to work as a charitable organization in cooperation with the ILR for the betterment of llamas and other camelids by providing and expanding general education of the diverse uses of these animals to the general public and llama owners, and to support programs that provide knowledge of the health and care of llamas and other camelids.
The primary programs supported by the ILF at this time are the ILR Youth Scholarship and the Darrell and Merlene Anderson Future Breeder Award.
The ILR Youth Scholarship is awarded each year to incoming college freshmen, as well as incoming juniors or seniors. These scholarships are designed to recognize outstanding youth members who demonstrate a strong commitment to their llamas, are actively engaged in their schools and communities, uphold high standards of character and service, and serve as ambassadors for llamas among their peers.
The Darrell and Merlene Anderson Future Breeder Award is designed to assist young llama breeders in the development of a successful llama breeding program by providing an opportunity for young llama enthusiasts to research and define their breeding and business goals, encouraging educational opportunities, and selecting one participant each year to receive a financial award toward the purchase of a breeding female llama. The program was created using a donation from Darrell and Merlene Anderson, longtime llama breeders and industry leaders.

Application and deadline information for both programs is sent directly to the ILR membership. For more information, contact info@lamaregistry.com.
Donations to the ILF are tax-deductible. Your support through charitable gifts, year-end donations, or estate planning helps sustain our mission. Learn more here.
